Bob Gerber | 1962 - 2012
GERBER, ROBERT SCOTT — Robert Scott Gerber “Bob” passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 11, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife Shelley Gerber, his devoted son Alex Gerber, age 19, and his three stepdaughters, Taylor DeVries age 17, Paige Sara DeVries age 15, and Alyssa DeVries, age 12. Bob was the son of Carol Gerber of Westland, Michigan, and Arnold Gerber of Northville, Michigan. Bob is survived by his sister Kimberlee (John) Gouin, and his niece, Leah of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Bob attended The University of Michigan and was a diehard Wolverine fan. He continued his education at Harvard University Law School, graduating cum laude in 1988. Shortly thereafter, he moved to San Diego, California. Bob was a partner at Sheppard Mullin Ritcher and Hampton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012, from 1:30-5:00 p.m. at El Camino Memorial Park Mortuary. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 21st, at 10:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Children of the Night, 14350 Sylvan Street Van Nuys, CA 91411. Bob had many inspiring personal and professional achievements. Children of the Night is a privately funded non-profit organization established in 1979 and dedicated to rescuing America's children from the ravages of prostitution. This is a charity that was near and dear to Bob. He gave countless hours of pro-bono legal assistance to the organization.
