Children of the Night
During his lifetime, Robert Gerber provided many a pro bono services for Children of the Night.
He represented one of our children in the first California case that provided for a victim of human sex trafficking to claim damages from a pimp/trafficker. Bob won her a settlement that allowed her to pursue a college education.
He also represented Children of the Night in a defamation/libel case that drew the attention of the ACLU and ended up before a District Court, but nonetheless Bob’s legal representation of Children of the Night remained vigilant.
Robert Gerber’s commitment to pro bono work and those less fortunate embodied the spirit of Ralph Nader’s quote when he said, “A society that has more justice is a society that needs less charity”.
